APPLICATION FIELD
1. Dust-preventing and solidifying surfacing treatment of cement slabs with up to 2% residual moisture.
Restoring and damp proofing cement sublfoors with up to 3% residual moisture.
DIRECTIONS
VERIFICATION OF SURFACES
Make sure that the surfaces to be treated are absorbing, clean, with no traces of oil, grease, paint, wax or silicone, nor crumbling or loose pieces. In any case it is advisable to brush with a wire brush and then to remove dust thoroughly. For the repair of any cracks and partial crevices use a synthetic mortar based on EPOPRIMER.
TREATMENTS:
- DUST-PREVENTING AND SOLIDIFYING SURFACING TREATMENT OF CEMENT SLABS WITH UP TO 2% RESIDUAL MOISTURE: check the suitability of the areas to be treated (see above). Check the superficial moisture with an electronic contact hygrometer and register the value. Apply 1 coat of UNIVERSAL assuring its total penetration into the screed. After 24 hours, and within 10 days, check the superficial moisture with an electronic contact hygrometer to ascertain that the measured value is lower than 2% or lower the one which was found before the treatment with UNIVERSAL. Then proceed to glue down the wood floor with one of the Carver adhesives.
- RESTORING AND DAMP PROOFING CEMENT SLABS WITH UP TO 3% RESIDUAL MOISTURE: check the suitability of the areas to be treated (see above). Check the superficial moisture with an electronic contact hygrometer and register the value. Apply UNIVERSAL in several passagges “wet on wet” nutil the slab I saturated, making sure that the product is completely absorbed. After 3 but within 12 hours apply the second and third coat. To obtain the best dampproofing result, apply the product with up to 5 cm overlap on the perimeter walls, so that a “basin” protection is created assuring its total penetration into the screed. After 3-5 days, but within 10 days, check the superficial moisture with an electronic contact hygrometer to ascertain that the measured value is lower than 2% or lower the one which was found before the treatment with UNIVERSAL. Then proceed to glue down the wood floor with Carver adhesive EPOCOL PLUS.
NOTICE
- Acclimatize and apply the product at a temperature between +15°C and +35°C. Make sure that room relative humidity degree is between 35% and 75%.
- UNIVERSAL can be applied on damp (max. 3%) but not wet surfaces.
- The product, like the others primers on the market, is suitable for the treatment of screeds containing residual moisture in the pouring, but not for the treatment of surfaces exposed to permanent rising damp.
- Before doing the treatment with UNIVERSAL, it is always advisable to make a test on a small area, in order to check the absorption of the product. In fact, to ensure a good final result, it is necessary that the absorption of the first coat is complete. Otherwise thin the product 20% with water and repeat the test.
- The product can not be used for repair mortars
- UNIVERSAL is not suitable for anhydrite substrates,
- Do not exceed 12 hours between one coat and the other
